Why I Spent Five Hours to Save 5 Minutes?

Since the beginning of the year, I have been obsessed with deploying automation into my business. My progress has been mixed, but I am directionally correct. The deployment that gave me the largest benefits are Excel automation, e-mail templates and Authotkeys that simulate keystrokes. Before each deployment I make sure I understand the process flow that I want to disrupt. The intention is to automate up to 80% of the process. Once I understand the process, I generate VBA scripts and Autohotkeys scripts by prompting through ChatGPT. I would deploy it into my process flow for test run. Based on the results, I either tune the scripts or the process. Sometimes I would spend hours just to save a few minutes of my day. In my opinion, it is still a good time investment. When a process is automated, the chances of mistakes are smaller. With less mistakes, I have more time to focus on what's important for the business and life.
