Following a successful assembly of the Water Tank Sensor adapter PCB, I continued with the RT85 CTCSS module. First problem: the capacitors series I order. I overlooked the fact that they were SMD. Those are tiny! But I got away with it… Poorly. Second problem (minor): the footprint of the resistors doesn’t match “standard” resistors. It’s too small. It all went pretty well, though. Missing a socket for the µC, so that’ll justify the Jaycar run more. I’m regretting not having planned for in-circuit programming, but it shouldn’t be something that happens often, and I can reuse the Xgecu T48 I bought to reprogram the channel memory. Pleased to see I got the mounting hole positioning right, though the various connectors seems to be a bit too tall to close the radio. I may have to mount the adapter upside down. Shouldn’t be too much of an issue. The post RT85 CTCSS PCB Assembly first appeared on Narf.
