Among the tall white pine trees of Moseley Woods. Moseley Woods is a town park on the south bank of the Merrimack River that is most popular with locals looking for a casual walk or a place to exercise their dogs. We discovered the park when looking for a place to start a hike into neighboring Maudslay State Park while avoiding an exorbitant out-of-state parking fee. We found Moseley Woods to be a pleasant side trip with nice river views. A network of trails explores this small woodland area under a canopy of tall white pine trees across rolling terrain. Traffic noise from nearby Interstate 95 is present throughout the park, and the woods open understory and lack of sound-dissapating ground level vegetation doesn't help the ambience.
