I've been digitally replicating another old Airfix kit that I built about a hundred years ago, this time the Hannover CL-III, as usual in 1:144 scale. It was sometimes described as the German equivalent of the Bristol Fighter, but in truth it was never as dangerous an opponent as that British machine. Here's my Airfix Hannover, in 1:72 scale. I painted it before I had any real idea of how the lozenge camouflage fabric used by the Germans in WW1 actually looked, and though I don't think it's too terrible as an impressionist approximation, it's just a grid of hexagons, not the asymmetrical lozenges that were actually used. It took forever to paint though.
