How to Justify a New Computer 0 ▲ SchwarzTech 1 hour ago · Life · hide Allison Sheridan: Everyone listening (or reading) has faced that moment when they really want to buy a new computer/tablet/phone, but they clearly do not need a new device. Some of us stay strong, like SR, who wrote in our Slack that instead of buying the new shiny, he buys stock so he can continue to afford more new, shiny retirement living. Smart guy! This article is not for him. I come to you this week to tell you how I justify making purchases that I don’t need. My goal is to be an enabler, not to help you be practical in planning a secure financial future. This is a fun post, mostly because it does end up being a win-win-win arrangement if one can upgrade family members and gets to treat themselves. At this point, most technology is good for long enough that upgrades can happen infrequently, so trying to justify it “for work” even if one is a tech enthusiast just feels hollow. Own the fact that you want something new, can adequately afford it, and enjoy the new toy! Commenting on Bubbles has been removed. Why?
