French Foreign Legion (1903) Part two

After finishing the fort I got stuck straight into the Moroccans, that I’m calling Beni Sahran (sons of the desert). They are a coalition of tribes with one uniting goal, push the French out. There were no set uniforms for them so they wore their day to day garb and their weapons were mostly bought from European arms traders, stolen from adversaries and, in some cases, family heirlooms. They mostly wore white, off white and brown colours but some would have brightly coloured sashes and turbans. I’ve tried to replicate that with my force. So far I’ve painted 10 of the 78 and the photos will give you an idea of what I’m going for. They were more fun than I expected to paint and I don’t even know what I was expecting. I guess I’ve been mostly looking forward to painting the French foreign legion but these but guys are actually more varied, therefore fun.
