Week 304: Silent film 0 ▲ po-ru.com 2 hours ago · Tech · hide My parents were in London for an evening event, so we met for lunch. I went to see The Standard of Living at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, starring Rory Kinnear playing something other than a Prime Minister. (Until L— reminded me, I’d forgotten that he was the porcine-compromised PM in Black Mirror as well as playing one more recently in the Diplomat). It’s funnier than you’d expect from a film about economics, and maybe a bit propagandist towards the end (though I approve of the message). Keynes had a much more interesting private life than I was previously aware of. His Russian ballerina wife was played by a Russian ballerina (Natalia Osipova). Time needed for costume changes and set adjustments was appropriately filled with short ballet dances. That’s fine, it’s entirely within their rights, but I can’t help thinking that’s a bit of a dick move to have done it… Commenting on Bubbles has been removed. Why?
