Postcard from Lochdubh… 0 ▲ James Hilton 4 hours ago · Life · hide Arriving at the end of steel where the ribbons meet the sea and embraced by the mountains of the most familiar of islands will forever be a tonic for the restless soul…Where models transcend their origins and help us paint a picture that evokes such emotion - Lochdubh exists in the curious dreamlike state between miniature and model railway. Its trains moved only by my hand but its ability to move me goes beyond the physical movement of electric motor driven models along nickel silver track… how can so much love be contained within a box barely 60x20x15cm.I imagine walking around the station, the pier. I smell the lobster pots and hear the gulls - the stiff breeze too that always blows down the Loch. Journeys end, but where one stops another starts - whether to the island beyond or to retrace my steps - wanderlust keeps my mind moving forwards whilst enjoying the warmth of memories of the past.So welcome to Lochdubh. Once you’re here, your heart will never leave.Until next time, more… Commenting on Bubbles has been removed. Why?
