This is my victory lap that went off course

I had plans to tell you that I’m having a second wind. Or third wind, depending on how old I feel on a given day. I was wondering how I could still be interesting while bragging about all my successes. People don’t want to hear me kvelling about me. There needs to be tension. It’s hard to write a post with an edge when I’m wallowing in my greatness. Fortunately, that is not a problem anymore because I’m dying of hubris. It happened so fast. Like if the Odyssey were two chapters instead of two hundred: Odysseus gloats to the cyclops in chapter one and gets his butt kicked in chapter two. That would be me. First I was going to tell you how hard it was to find a way to play beach volleyball again, and then I started coaching two elementary-school teams of beach doubles in the Ozarks and I’m having such a good time.
