Another spooky halloween novel. This sci-fi classic written in 1897 was a treat – a horror but v funny in places. The protagonist is a learned but irritable psychopath who uses science to become invisible, a condition that turns out to be in fact an enormous hindrance. Not least because england’s terrible weather and cold proves deleterious to his nefarious schemes as he has to do them all naked to avoid detection. What fun! Download free from Standard eBooks
