Weekly digest 79

Happenings This week I was off work with the kids while my wife was at work. Did pumpkin carving with the kids. This was more-or-less my first pumpkin experience, since I never did Halloween growing up, and have never though to do it as an adult. I helped my eldest carve out a simple face he’d drawn on the pumpkin, and my youngest put some stickers on his (with a lot of daddy help). Took them to a softplay barn. The two young women staffing the place were former students of mine so it was nice to say hi. I started the session off trying to chase my youngest and keep him safe as it was his first time on the “big children’s” play stuff, but that got tiring very quickly. He seemed fine, and my eldest was doing a grand job of looking out for him — even came to find me when the little one did have a little bump. Other than that I just drank coffee and read.
