The double pushing finesse, doubled. 0 ▲ The Tao of Gaming 1 hour ago · 8 min read1689 words · Gaming · hide · 0 comments Played in a Swiss Team game today, which is the first time I’ve played IMPs (instead of matchpoints) in roughly a year. In the first round we are randomly paired against an OK intermediate team, so we are just brutalizing them when I pick up the final board of the match. S: x H: AKQxxx D: AK9x C: xx This is an easy 1 Heart opening. I think I might just Jump Shift and force to game if partner makes a response. Partner bids 2 NT the “Jacoby 2NT” showing … a strong, game forcing heart raise (typically with 4 card support). Wild! We are almost certainly making a small slam, and a grand is certainly possible. I bid 3 Spades, which shows shortness, mainly because that means that partner’s natural bid will show (or deny) a club stopper. It’s just possible we are off two fast club tricks. Partner bids 4 Clubs and now it’s time to decide between small and grand slam. I bid 4NT (Roman Key Card) and partner bids 5 Hearts, showing both missing aces (and denying the heart queen, but I knew that).… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse.
