On Repeat: 3 Live from October

On Sundays I try to at least quickly note some of my favorite listening from the week prior — things I would later regret having not written about in more depth, so better to share here briefly than not at all. YouTube is the gift that keeps on giving. Three favorite recent live performances: ▰ On October 9, 2026, KMRU doing a dense solo drone noise set as part of the Skaņu Mežs festival in Riga, Latvia: ▰ On October 25, 2026, the great Brad Mehldau performing variations on Bach’s Goldberg theme in the Netherlands: ▰ Five nights later, on October 30, 2026, a Americana-jazz trio led by guitarist Bill Frisell with Luke Bergman (bass) and Tim Angulo (drums). Part of the Nuejazz festival in Nuremberg, Germany.
