What's been happeningWow, we're at the penultimate month of the year. I have no idea how the weeks went by so fast. Work-wise, things have been pretty busy. My manager is on vacation, so a lot of the compliance-related work came to me and I've been busy trying to get those done. LiteLLM had a supply chain compromise this week and one of our machine learning jobs was hit by it and thus I was roped into the investigation - including the root cause, the possible damage and what might have been affected. We've been trying the open-weight models at work - GLM Flash 5.3 and DeepSeek 4.1 being the ones I've been using quite a bit. In my experience, these models are not quite 'smart' but are very determined to get the job done - and as a result, putting them into investigative analysis of what/why/how has been very cost-effective and has had positive results.
