How to sync Audiobookshelf stats with Readwise Reader 0 ▲ overkill.wtf 1 hour ago · Tech · hide · 0 comments At this point, I should have made might it clear enough that Readwise Books is the center of my reading life. It's where I read my books and track my reading, and it's the engine behind the /reading page on this blog. But it's not where I actually listen to audiobooks. For that, I use audiobookshelf (ABS) in my home lab and listen to them (mostly while driving) with an app called Absorb. (Use Prologue if you are on iOS.) But since I still wanted to track my audiobook listening in Readwise Books, I ended up creating1 a sync engine which takes the stats from ABS and sends them to Readwise Books via their API. The script runs in Docker alongside ABS, checks for new listening sessions every 15 minutes, and sends their dates and audio positions to Readwise Books. It keeps track of what it's already sent in a local SQLite database, so restarting it doesn't mean importing everything again. You can also import your older listening history, without dumping all of it into your Readwise feed.… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse. Comments will appear here.
