This is Not a Drill . . . It’s Noirvember 2026!

Man your battle stations, grab your fedoras, and don’t forget your smokes . . . It’s Noirvember time!!! That’s right, femmes and hommes, according to the ol’ calendar on the wall, it’s time for another 30 days of deceptive dames, supreme suckers, and more gats than you can shake a stick at. The creation of author Marya Gates, who coined the term back in 2010, Noirvember celebrates all things film noir, and around these parts, I’m ready to take on my 13th consecutive year of daily posting from the world of the shadows! This year, I’m taking a page from the book of Kari Hansbarger, who I know best as LadyKDesigns on Twitter and Bluesky – each year, she spearheads a Noirvember Challenge, where her followers are invited to post a movie, character, actor, or scene that meets the daily prompt (like “Favorite Noir Villain” or “Sexiest Noir Femme” – you get the idea.) So, I thought I’d come up with my own challenge here at Shadows and Satin – each day, I’ll have a different noir-related topic…
