It is of course Halloween today and my four-year-old nephew celebrated by holding onto my head and whispering right into my ear, "Auntie Fran. Did you know. There are bugs. Photographed all my houseplants, cooked up the carrots and cauliflower from the garden, washed all the windows, tidied up the still untidy front garden, got my shoes fixed went to Ikea again, watched my sister run a 10k event, did a couple of school pickups, did not go to a fairy masquerade ball but did help out, painted a bedroom, spent a day with my aunt, had some really good falafel, visited friends, went on a bookshop crawl, saw an opera Favourites this month The Making of…
