Be a Larry, be committed, and take the next step 0 ▲ Curtis McHale 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments A Larry can change their mind in the face of new information. Commitment takes work, but can yield a better life for us, even when life is really just a series of wicked problems. Be a Larry While it's an older story, it just came across my radar. Larry showed up to provide support for an anti-trans bill but sat and listened to the stories of the LGBTQ community while he waited for his turn. Those stories moved him so far that he apologised to them for his former views and how they were treated. We need more Larry's in the world. When faced with new information we should support politicians that change their mind, instead of ridiculing them for flip-flopping1. Changing your mind is a good thing and we should encourage rethinking your position. The vanishing power of commitment Commitment appears to be a vanishing quality in our society. When something isn't working just right, we replace it with a newer, more up-to-date version. - Play Nice in Your Sandbox at Home On the marriage… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse.
