Metallica By Candlelight

Last weekend we went out with our friends to POMO. Lovely downtown Phoenix vibe, we sat outside with some red wine and fantastic pasta dishes. The main event of the evening though, a classical tribute to Metallica. Metallica by candlelight at the Phoenix Art Museum was such a fun experience. I had no idea what to expect. How well would Metallica songs translate to strings? What sort of audience would there be? Their versions of One, Sad But True, Master of Puppets were quite moving and worked really well. The highlight a rousing audience participation version of Seek & Destroy. And the audience was interesting. Skewed GenX and surprisingly super dressed up tattooed rocker couples. "You clean up nicely". What a fun night.
