second chances

we were talking about travel and the weather the other day at work. my manager told me how she was cold in madrid one december. it reminded me of my trip to zürich last year. first of all i do not have anything bad to say about zürich. i’m sure there are problems just like every other place in the world. i just want to highlight straight up i was unprepared. i had a week off last year in november and i decided to spontaneously fly to zürich. i’d never been to switzerland [for context i live in scotland] and the flight wasn’t long at all. this idiot (yep, that’s me) went to zürich in november wearing a tshirt, coat, hat & gloves. boy did i get the shock of my life with -3°c. i was cold, miserable and walking around zürich after staying up all night in an airport. coincidentally when i got to my accommodation, i decided to feel a little under the weather. turns out the cure was mcdonalds and some sleep but i definitely had regret. i didn’t dislike zürich. i just disliked my inadequate…
