Plasma Bigscreen (or something else) for a lounge TV computer 0 ▲ Rubenerd 1 hour ago · Tech · hide · 0 comments Our AppleTV has proved perfectly serviceable for the decade we’ve had it, but… actually, scratch that, besides its mediocre remote, it’s been excellent. Apple could have abandoned it years ago and forced us to upgrade, but it’s still been getting patches and new features this whole time. That feels unusual in our current world of planned obsolescence, enshittification, and everyone’s favourite two letters of the Latin alphabet, so it’s worth calling out. Good job, Cupertino. That was a stilted paragraph, even by my standards. I used stilts in high school gymnastics briefly, and I can’t remember why. Something to do with training us for balance? The 2000s were wild. Should I start this post again? Recently we’ve started wanting to do more things with our lounge TV that the AppleTV can’t, doesn’t, and/or won’t support. I thought it might be fun to use one of our three Wyse 3040 machines as a replacement. Wait, three? Didn’t I only have two of those tiny thin clients in my original post?… No comments yet.
