RBG, Justice Thomas, and Justice Alito

Assume for purposes of discussion that Democrats win control of the Senate next week. In that event, Justices Thomas and Alito will be subject to the same criticism by conservatives that Justice Ginsburg received from liberals. They all could have retired in a year where their party controlled the Senate and the Presidency. They chose not to. Now Justice Ginsburg was older than Thomas and Alito are now when she made that decision. Perhaps they can outlast more unfavorable election cycles than she did. We'll see.
