Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church 0 ▲ Down the Road 1 hour ago · Culture · hide · 0 comments You’ll find it on County Road 350 W near Stilesville, in Hendricks County, Indiana — this old church, built in 1867. According to the sign next to the door, services are still held here one Sunday a month. Primitive Baptists believe a church should follow the simple pattern of the New Testament. The movement took shape during an early 1800s Baptist split over mission boards, Sunday schools, and other church organizations they regarded as unauthorized additions to that pattern. A distinctive belief of primitive Baptists is about salvation: God saves entirely by grace. Hearing the gospel, making a decision to believe, and being baptized do not cause someone to be born again. It’s unsurprising that a building from 1867 has no indoor toilets. The privy is out back. If you’d like to visit this church, you’ll find its location on Google Maps here.
