William Emmett Geder 1903-1977 circa 1920 I felt safest as a child in bed between my parents. Dad strung a monster balloon by the window, woke me to the swaying dragon and then turned on the lights. “What are you afraid of?” Saturdays, we would go downtown. Shopping for Mom. “C’mon Dad; let’s hurry!” “Where’s the fire?” We shopped, then headed for Milton's Grill. Comics, sodas, and my private booth.Dad was 'belly-to-the-bar'. Next thing that I knew; I was stepping off the bus with packages for Mom. “Where’s your Dad?” Everyone told me he was a fantastic piano player. I recall seeing some silver record albums bearing Dad’s name. During a ‘Spring Cleaning’ jam, Mom threw them out. Dad stayed with me while my oldest sister Sonya, his caretaker, vacationed in Africa. "Daddy, eat your carrots, doctor's orders" "When did your sister become a doctor?" “What are you afraid of?” Asé Peace, Blessings & Governance,"Guided by the Ancestors" Reply by email
