A day trip to Wisemans Ferry, NSW 0 ▲ Sathyajith Bhat 1 hour ago · Nature · hide · 0 comments Wisemans Ferry is a town located 75 kilometres north-north-west of Sydney. Named after Solomon Wiseman, a former convict who received a land grant in the area. Wiseman established a ferry service on the Hawkesbury River in 1827 for the transport of produce and provisions to the convicts building the Great North Road; the ferry continues to operate today. The road to Wisemans Ferry we took was via Cattai/Maroota, which is surrounded by the Cattai National Park and Maroota Ridge State Conservation Area. We were driving through lush green trees, and the roads through the national parks were an absolutely fantastic drive.Seems like a bikers' club was starting their rideThe first stop was Hawkins Lookout just on the outskirts of Wisemans Ferry. Hawkins Lookout is one of the best places to get a panoramic view of the Hawkesbury River. There are a couple of picnic tables as well, providing just the right place to stop by, relax and eat while you watch the Hawkesbury River.Hawkins… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse.
