Chiricahua National Park. 0 ▲ Life Is Such A Sweet Insanity. 15 hours ago · Nature · hide · 0 comments Earlier this week, the Trump administration signed into law the newest National Park in the United States. Chiricahua National Monument became Chiricahua National Park. This newest addition to the U.S. National Park system is around two hours for home, so Earl and I jumped into the Jeep and decided to check it out. We stopped at the visitors’ center and picked up a few mementos from the park’s national monument days. They have a great selection of items in the store and it’s definitely worth a stop. We took the scenic drive up to Massai Point, which is at the end of the main road and brings you to an elevation of just under 6900 feet. The scenery is gorgeous! I’m planning on doing a longer hike here before the end of the year. I’d really like to do an overnight stay here in the Jeep, but I have some logistics to solve before I can do that. Staying out here in Dark Sky country during a New Moon would be awesome. I also made a YouTube short for the channel up on Massai Point. No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse.
