Deadly 60 – 17 Sept 2010

Today’s recording starts with the end of League of Super Evil. There’s a trail for Roar. Then there’s a short episode of Newsround. There’s a trail for Scoop starring Hacker T Dog and Barry from Eastenders. Then it’s Deadly 60 – Killers. This episode is concentrating on animals that kill people. First, Steve Backshall kayaks in a river where there’s a wild hippo. Which does start chasing him, so it’s a tense sequence, although I suspect they hype the danger a bit for this show. He helps capture a huge Saltwater Crocodile which had been endangering people. In Australia he meets a Black Widow or Red-Backed Spider. In a montage of some of the snakes he’s encountered, there’s this great shot of a Reticulated Python. He carefully handles a Fat-Tailed Scorpion, one of the most venomous animals around. A glimpse of a Polar Bear we’ve seen in a previous episode. And that time when he got lost underwater, had to check his atlas, and was interrupted by a Tiger Shark. A Tiger in India. Media…
