Flawed characters, egos galore, relationships that feel real, and some stellar writing and acting, safe to say I enjoyed every minute of The Diplomat. Late to the party I binged watched my way through all 4 seasons over the last couple of weeks. It’s the first TV show NOT on Apple TV I’ve watched for a while but I’d heard good things. A political drama based in deep character work, the usual suspension of disbelief still applies but there wasn’t anything too out there to make me cringe. Instead I bought in to the characters, the good and the bad —although most of them are somewhere in the middle, you know, like most people— and by the end of Season 4 I was, literally, sitting on the edge of the sofa, punching the air! Will there be a season 5? Perhaps, but part of me thinks stopping now would be sensible. Surely the story arc is complete enough? Although there are enough open questions to wonder… what if…? 5/5 – would recommend. Thanks for reading and keeping RSS alive. Visit my site…
