Western Alpine Red Bus Tour 0 ▲ Chris Glass 2 hours ago · Life · hide · 0 comments I’d been to Glacier in 2003 and zipped through the park because I was short on time. It still stuck with me as one of the most beautiful places. I remember passing these Red Buses thinking how neat it’d be to be a passenger. Pretty darn grateful that it eventually happened, and it was indeed neat. When the Red Bus arrived this morning, the rolled canvas top was closed. I figured it was so chilly we’d forgo an open-air adventure on this day. But the top got rolled back at our first stop on the Going-to-the-Sun-Road — a fanciful name for the main thoroughfare in Glacier. Luckily, a thick wool blanket was available in each row of the classic bus painted red-orange (to match mountain ash berries of the region). I was extra glad that because this was among the last tours of the year, we had the row (and that blanket) to ourselves.
