Things are pretty tough right now. It feels like the terrible people read Gibson and Stephenson and decided they were a roadmap rather than a warning. Every day is scary. But dystopias aren't inevitable. A real dystopia comes from people and their actions, which means we have a choice.I started writing this about a year ago, and this as far as I got. It was an attempt to psych myself up to get out of a funk, and engage with my future. I think it worked for me, privately. With voting underway for the midterm elections here in the US, it feels even more relevant now. This is our chance to make a choice, and while it would be great if every election didn't feel like a possibly cataclysmic event, that's not where we're at right now.Get out there, vote, and let's make some change.
