Since I first saw the trailer below 1, I wanted this movie to do really, really well. Women! Working together! Pulling off a complicated, high class heist! What on Earth is there not to like? I have watched this movie multiple times–in fact, I own it in DVD–and every time I watch it, I get angry again that we never got a second one–despite getting decent enough reviews, as good or better than two of the men-led previous Ocean’s movies got, and despite bringing in revenue well over four times the production cost. Because yes, given its financial success, the only reason not to make a women-centered trilogy to complement the three previously released, men-centered movies is misogyny. 2 (Because I occasionally get those comments, please note: angry isn’t shocked. It’s angry.) There is nothing terribly original about the plot; if you have watched any heist movie released in the past… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse. Comments will appear here.
