13th october to 18th october what i did despite my attempts to avoid it, i have found myself watching political streamers. job has entered the quiet season before the end-of-the-year rush, so it’s been a quieter, more relaxing pace, bless. my struggles with affinity continue. every day i use it, i find some discrepancy between what i think the app should ’naturally’ do and what it actually does, and end up muttering, “It’s not a bug, it’s a feature,” to myself. early in the week, my partner was able to figure out how to do something which had been extremely simple to do in procreate, but which required a depth of fluency with the rarer abilities of affinity to duplicate. i was, of course, furious that it took both of us four days to figure this out. by sunday i finally came to an answer: procreate is a phenomenal experience, possibly constrained by choices they’ve made (“raster”/pixel vs vector) and therefore deeply limited. but the experience of using procreate is incredible. it is…
