No big material desires left

What do you do when you have no big material desires left? When you already have a monetary safety net that will serve you in case of an emergency? Your bank balance will grow, but most of it will only go towards your retirement plan. Retirement and emergencies are both future possibilities. You will save your money for a possibility. This will definitely ease your mind. A minimum amount of security and safety is essential in order to not feel anxious about the future. So let's say you have this fallback money (which doesn't have to be enormous) and you can cover your daily expenses like food, hygiene products and transportation. What if you have enough income to put something aside and don't plan on buying a house or shiny new car, or getting kids? Many people who earn more money than they can spend simply upgrade their lifestyle. You can do this on an infinite scale. But what if you recognize that this does not make you happy?
