I really did rush through the first week of Orktober and I didn’t enjoy myself as much as I should’ve. For the second week I’ve paced myself more and enjoyed the process a hell of a lot more. It’s a fun competition but if it takes the fun out of painting minis that’s no good so lesson learnt for me haha. I’ve never owned a “weird-boy” ork until the most recent new one came along. Even though I like weird things I was never really drawn to the character. Dunno, wizards, warlocks, witches and ethereal aren’t my thing I guess. I didn’t buy him as a single model either he came with the rest of the mob you get in the new starter box from Warhammer. When I built him the long wiry bits hanging off him all snapped off apart from one until only one remained. I then snapped this off in my sulky rage. Then I realised it’s a plastic toy and I’m a grown man and came to my senses haha. I stared at the built weird-boy model for quite a while not knowing how to paint him and then something happened……
