October 2026 Throwbacks 0 ▲ Crest, Cliff & Canyon 2 hours ago · Life · hide · 0 comments Just two this time, from 10 and 5 years ago. 15 years ago was the month Eli was born, and I’ll spare him blogging newborn pictures. But here we have an amazing stormy fall morning looking at the enormous Eastern Sierra scarp from across the Owens Valley. And five years ago was when I first really clued into Inland Northwest fall color. This image from Montana’s Yaak River is a sleeper favorite which has been on my gallery website for some time, but I don’t think it’s ever made it onto the blog before now. Full disclosure: I did a non-negligible amount of digitally removing sticks and grass stems from this one. At one time, I would have been more uncomfortable with that approach, but these days it seems preferable to physically rearranging the forest floor. Doing more woodland photography has changed my outlook a bit regarding clean compositions and their attendant ethics. No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse. Comments will appear here.
