Back from Old Blighty

There was no formal itinerary made for this trip. Just a return to Southend. Time with family & friends. Time to relax. Travel In a word. Bad. Outward bound I was de-planed and delayed at Cleveland due to a pressurization system issue. Re-booked on a later flight from Washington Dulles, which at 10pm was cancelled. Complimentary hotel room and back to Washington Dulles at 4am for a 6am flight to Newark. Then onto the London Heathrow. Train delays out of London, and a win at home for West Ham, meant not arriving in Southend until midnight. A whole 24 hours of vacation lost. The return wasn't much better. Fallout from various issues on both sides of The Atlantic with cut fiber cables and failing air traffic control systems. The multiple gate changes, a broken windshield wiper, and missing personal meant I didn't arrive home until 3am—4 hour later than expected. Family The family has grown since my last visit.
