Inspired by Chatscape's Leaving Algorithm-Driven Spaces. As someone spending a lot of time on places like Bear Blog, ooh.directory, and Bubbles, maybe I'm better served by reducing that spend. Prioritizing blossoming friendships over demonizing algorithms or other supposedly evil online entities, I can see how my needs could be better met by joining larger, high-feature platforms compared to smaller, low-feature platforms. Do you find that odd? If you start or continue sharing what you want to see more of in a feed, does what others demand they should be seeing in the same feed matter? Posting from your heart instead of your hate might not yield as many replies, responses, or interactions as you would like. However, how much better could you feel in the long run…
