The single-player campaign, Squadron 42, will be released in Q2 2027 (April-June) and has a Steam wishlist page, as well as a new trailer.Early work began on Star Citizen in 2011, with the game hitting Kickstarter in 2012. The developers continued accepting donations via their own webpage after the Kickstarter ended, and as of today the game has raised over $1,051,189,523 in funding, making it the most expensive confirmed video game project ever made (although unofficial sources suggest that Grand Theft Auto VI may have spent comparable amount in development funds, and marketing will take it way, way over that).
