Leaning into how my brain works 0 ▲ baty.net 3 hours ago · Tech · hide · 0 comments For much of my life, I've thought that I wanted to be someone else. Or at least be a person like someone else. Sometimes I'd even try to be that person. "That person" has usually been whomever I happened to be reading or watching something about. It's never worked. Instead, maybe I shouldn't work so hard at being whatever kind of person I find interesting this week. Maybe I should be the kind of person I already am. Except, what kind even is that? Fair question! The short answer is that I like the discovery phase of everything. I love movies in which something strange is going on and people are trying to figure out what's happening. The problem is that I lose interest once they figure out what's happening and begin solving, killing, or running from whatever it is. Same with video games. The games I enjoy are the open-world type where I can just walk around and explore and discover things. I don't want to be rushed, or die, or have to start over at some "save point."
