Some of the words are naughty, but they come from a good place; I use them without apology because I care and, like many of you, I know how to make a good-sized mountain out of a molehill. If you’re not in the mood to hear me rant and cuss about something that makes me want to drink gin from the cat bowl, then give this one a miss. You’ve been warned. I learned something new today. Did you know that, according to some random guy on Instagram, every lens is at its sharpest when you choose the aperture that is twice the value of the maximum aperture? So, if you have a /2.8 lens, it’s sharpest at /5.6. If you have a /4.0 lens, it’s sharpest at f/8.0. You should always use the sharpest aperture. Or so he says. Now I have heard different versions of this nonsense for years. The numbers always differ.
