It didn't start out particularly impressively but things built nicely and by Aberlady the treats were arriving thick and fast. I can't remember the last time I've had such an unexpected number of animals and birds cross my path. Especially this late in the year. I think everything was out celebrating the last of the sunshine before cold damp Winter squats on the face of Scotland.Since the forecast was better in the afternoon I bumped the 10am train to a midday start. As I ran down from Longniddry station to the coastal trails, the sun was breaking through nicely and there was a clear view back to Edinburgh. I was wearing a t-shirt with a jumper in my backpack which I didn't put on till I got to the bus stop at Gullane at 5pm. just hovers where there were painted ladies last timesmall white on the beachGreen CraigAs usual I called in to Waterston House just before Aberlady.
