First, some big new: Carslberg is closing the Marston’s brewery in Burton upon Trent, citing falling cask sales, as reported by Jessica Mason at The Drinks Business: The range of beers that are currently brewed at the Marstons Brewery and could potentially need to either be re-allocated to a new location or face extinction include: Marston’s Pedigree, Bass, Wainwright, Hobgoblin, Old Empire IPA, 61 Deep, King Goblin, Lancaster Bomber, Pearl Jet and EPA… As a global drinks company, Carlsberg’s reputation is renowned for its lager, but as a UK business the newly-formed Carlsberg Britvic has not yet made itself popular within the beer sector.
