The drive from Lander westward was chill and pretty dreamy — the landscape transformed at every bend and the sky was big and blue. We caught our first glimpse of the Teton Range at Togwotee Overlook. And as soon as we crossed the entrance to Grand Teton National Park our audio guide said to be alert for wildlife as we passed by a field chock-full of buffalo. The midday light was washing out the mountain range details, but it didn’t matter one lick — they were grand indeed. We pulled into most every overlook while heading into Jackson for the night to make a game plan for the next day. (This adventure had a vague outline with some anchors along the way, but for big chunks we were winging it.) Jackson had a slight Real Housewives of Cotopaxi vibe. Pretty sure we caught a moose in the alley on the way to saddle up to the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. There was an alert to avoid tap water as there was an E. coli outbreak, but the cowboy-themed cabin we stayed at gave out bottles of water so…
