This was Tom’s fault. Just look what arrived today. He’s responsible for this. Recently I wrote a post explaining that I was done with the Raspberry Pi. I didn’t elaborate or provide much detail, partly because I don’t need to justify my hobbies, but mostly because I was done and ready to move on. I mentioned how I always liked the idea of having a Raspberry Pi more than its execution, and we were clearly not a good fit. Yes, I’m willing to admit this was at least half a me problem, alongside my reservations about single-board computers delegating persistent and bootable storage to SD cards (cough). This lead to the question of how the Pis should be replaced. I decided to go in two directions: Arduinos for the basics, like my Das Blinkin Lights project. WOW has this been so much simpler and more fun than I realised it’d be. This deserves its own separate post series, just as soon as I get my thoughts together and have something to show. I way overcomplicated things going the Pi route…
