Regular readers might recall that a year and a half ago, Halifax sent a letter about my credit card addressed to other people at my address (instead of to me). This was the letter I received 18 months ago, sharing (a) the fact that I have a Halifax credit card, (b) its credit limit, and (c) the last four digits of its number with Ruth and JTA, neither of whom are associated with my credit card. After I wrote to them, they (eventually) phoned me to tell me that the problem had been fixed. It was a computer problem, they said. It related to the fact that the two people it was addressed to did share a different kind of account with me (a mortgage). They'd fixed the problem, they said. It wouldn't happen again, they said. Well, it happened again. I suppose I should be thankful that they didn't leak my credit limit this time. Just (again) that I have a card with them, that it's expiring, the last four digits of it, and the last four digits of its replacement. Y'know, just the kinds of…
