09.28 – 10.04

Life Ηη got up and did all of his homework on Saturday morning, instead of coming to wake us up at unfeasibly early o’clock which has thus far been the normal order of things. I could hardly believe it – more sleep for us, and no standing over his shoulder getting-blood-from-a-stone homework routine. Long may this new dawn continue. I bumped into the school chef in the week and was able to procure the recipe for a basil and lentil swirl (which Ηη is fairly obsessed with). I wasn’t convinced he would be up for my version, but he seemed very happy with it. We accidentally discovered the Bunny vs Monkey comic series, and I think it might be the thing that unlocks reading for Ηη. He still makes up 50% of the words over five characters long, but his newfound enthusiasm and willingness to have a go is so good to see. Αα has got it into her head that she doesn’t like one of the ladies who looks after her at nursery. This means everyone is miserable at drop-off which is a crap start to the…
