She was a bit butthurt, and all that kind of stuff. But as I told her, I have enough experience to know how to end the set, and I’ve been ending sets with this one song lately, and it’s perfect for the boat, which we were on, on Lake Austin. Like, super beautiful and fun. Great vibes. I knew what to do. I told her to trust me. And I played “While You See a Chance” by Steve Winwood, which is a trick I use a lot these days, but I haven’t used it yet with this crowd. And so many people were dying, singing along-really did stick the landing here. So, it’s just really fun when you move from doing what you want to doing what you know is going to work. And then when those two actually meet, these are the kind of moments you’re looking for, when your experience is equaling your desire to play this or that, and it just makes for a great gig.… No comments yet.
