2026 Anniversary Series 091: All Shall Perish – The Price of Existence 0 ▲ The Killchain 1 hour ago · Music · hide · 0 comments Scribed by Sandre the Giant Released: 8th August 2006 It seems fitting that as I write this in 2026 that we are seeing the rebirth of California’s technical deathcore legends All Shall Perish, rising from the grave to bring us back to the halcyon days where techdeathcore was actually pretty good, like on their 2006 record ‘The Price of Existence’. This was the first album I remember hearing that sounded like this, not old school death metal or even more modern technical or brutal stuff. No this felt clinical, precise and yet stupidly heavy in the same way as 00s hardcore did, although much much more vicious sounding. I didn’t know what to make of it, but I can tell you this record has remained a solid favourite of mine as an entry point into what deathcore can be at its very best. Twenty years on, I still think that idea holds water and I’m going to tell you why.
