I am at the beginning of my watch collecting journey which gives it the vitality of any new hobby when everything is exciting and new. Thinking about watches made me analyze my personal watch history dating all the way back to when I was just a kid.I first started wearing a wrist watch when I was 8, I remember it quite vividly, growing up in 1990s Poland everyone was raised catholic and everyone in the 2nd grade was expected to go through the first communion rites, for kids the exciting part was that it meant gifts from family. The two gifts that stuck with me were the Amiga 1200 (technically I received cash that I spent on the Amiga) and a Swatch wristwatch which I got from an aunt who lived in US. The watch survived maybe 3 years before its plastic case eventually broke at which point my parents replaced it with a Casio G-Shock probably something from the DW-5000 line if I remember correctly.As I embarked on building my watch collection and was reminiscing about my watch history I…
