I’m a university teacher by profession, and so perhaps judging things and setting up criteria comes naturally. I wrote down my criteria for good and great adventures. You may disagree, of course, or have your own, but here are mine, and they are organised like a checklist. Maybe they will help you evaluate how to fix an adventure you have or one you are making. Good adventure A good adventure provides a solid framework for play and is a help to the GM, giving them scaffolding, inspiration, and tools for play. Writing Concise and flavourful descriptions Entire situation described for DM in introduction: key NPCs, factions, events, magic items and locations introduced Complete descriptions for major NPCs: name, appearance, desires and faction affiliation (if present) Two or three concrete, powerful hooks for DMs to use or modify Short location descriptions that call out major features but provide adjectives for the DM to build descriptions on Read-aloud text is short, if present Random…
